IV 1 - D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches) (189) I-2 R-6
Obverse IV 1 - Some doubled/tripled left stars .
Die Marker - Polishing lines in RT of LIBERTY.
Reverse D2a - Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. No gouge yet from 3rd tail feather.
Comments:LVA divided the VAM 3A1 ("Tail Gouge") designation into VAMs 3A1a and 3A1b in October 2018, after examining a coin that had scribbles matching coins in the 3A1-2-3-4 series, but did not have a tail gouge. Coins previously known as VAM 3A1 (with gouge) are now 3A1b. VAMs 3A2, 3A3 and 3A4 remain unchanged.
