5 (revised) III2 5 - C4l (Doubled Profile, Near Date, Doubled Reverse Lettering) (189) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 5 - Fairly strong doubled Liberty head profile from hair down to jaw with slight tripled chin.
- Die 1- Slightly tripled Phrygian cap top. Date at right edge of near lateral position. Fine vertical polishing lines right side of three lower cotton leaves.
- Die 1 Marker- Tiny hooked die scratch at cap top fold junction. Die polishing lines in fields.
- Die 2 Marker - Virtually no die polishing lines in LIBERTY or elsewhere.
Reverse C4l - Hub doubling of legend and motto letters similar to VAM 10.
- Die 1 Marker- Several vertical polishing lines in eagle's right wing top opposite wreath end. Vertical die scratch at back of eagle's mouth.
- Die 2 Marker- Long horizontal die scratch across eagle's right leg, but lower than VAM 15 die marker.
Comments:
- The polishing on Die 1 is similar to that on VAM 1A, but not as strong.
