1902-O VAM-52 Tripled Ear Bottom, O Tilted Left

Discovered by Michael Ash, June 2006.
52 III221 · C4j (Tripled Ear Bottom, O Tilted Left) (181) I-2 R-4
Obverse III221– Bottom outside of ear slightly tripled. Base of 2 filled in with date in center of normal lateral position.
Reverse C4j - Mint mark tilted to left at normal height.

1. The triples ear lobe starts to disappear in MDS to LDS. It goes from a tripled in EDS, to doubled in MDS, to a single ear lobe in LDS.
2. The photos shown below the VAM Plate are NOT a VAM-52, so do not match your coin up to the photos below and think you have a VAM-52.
