Obverse III28– Short die gouges at top left of R and lower left of I in PLURIBUS.
Reverse C4/C3s – III O mint mark centered and upright with slight shift to right. Extra olive to right of olive connected to olive branch. Doubling on top of olive branch at right of olives, at base of olive leaf clusters, top of upper two leaves in bottom olive lead cluster, tops of arrow feathers and middle of shafts, back of lower arrow head, middle feathers of eagle's left wing and right of eagle's nostril and eye.
Comments:The VAM 38A shares neither obverse nor reverse die with the VAM38.
