One of the better date Morgan dollars, 1900-S is usually found with good luster and an above average strike. Breast feathers will seem weak on coins struck with dies using the C4 reverse. Prooflike coins are available, but have low contrast. There aren't any varieties that are of particular interest to collectors. The mint mark punch was changed during 1900, with both the old, narrow S and the new wide S being used. VAM 3A is said to have a wide S punched over a narrow S, but this variety's existence is questioned, as none have been confirmed since being listed.
