1898-S VAM-14 Doubled 1, Die Scratch

Discovered by Crae Morton, March 2006.
14 III210 · C3a (Doubled 1, Die Scratch) ( ? ) I-2 R-4
Obverse III210– 1 in date doubled below and on left side of upper crossbar. Left edge of 1 base over right edge of third denticle from neck point.
Reverse C3a– Fine horizontal die scratch above eagle’s right shoulder.

1. This variety features a slightly doubled "1", but the easiest diagnostic is an almost-horizontal die scratch above the eagle's right shoulder.
