1897-P VAM-10 Slightly Doubled 1

Discovered by Michael Ash, December 2006.
10 III29 C3a (Slightly Doubled 1) ( ? ) I-2 R-5
Obverse III29– Slightly doubled lower edge of top crossbar.Die marker– Two horizontal polishing lines across neck.
(1) Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
(2) On specimens struck with shallow dates or from LDS dies, the doubling on the 1 is nearly invisible, but the lines on the neck still show.
(3) Reverse displays "Bearded Eagle".
