1894-O is a semi-key date, and like other New Orleans cons of the mid 1890s, it is far more easily found circulated than uncirculated.  Strike is usually poor, but on AU58 and higher coins, luster can be attractive.  Prooflike coins are extremely rare, with only a few known.  Cherrypicking 1894-O will be an exercise in finding above average strikes with good luster, as none of the listed varieties are particularly sought by collectors. Ironically, the most popular variety may be the contemporary counterfeit VAM 13 from the Micro O counterfeit family, with the wrong reverse hub design. VAM 6A is known with a slight rotated die.
