1891-S is typically a rather attractive in mint state, with strong strike and luster, but above average abraisions. Prooflike specimens are fairly common, with many coming from the Redfield hoard. The most popular variety is the Top 100 VAM 3 with doubled obverse stars. The VAM 8A is notable for a series of wide die gouges throughout the reverse.
