Obverse III2 21– Ear doubled at left and top right inside. Slightly doubled right side of right cotton stem and part of left side of leaf below right stem. Slanted date in normal lateral position with last 8 higher than 1. Tops of 188 slightly doubled. Last 8 inverted with wider loops at top.

Comments:

  1. The "Inverted 8" is actually a feature of the date punch, and is seen on almost all coins of 1888. It shouldn't be used alone to attribute this variety.
