1888-P VAM-10 Slanted Date

Discovered by Kirk Duncan, May 1977. Revised 2017, Kurt R. Johnson
10 (revised) III2 8 - C3a (Slanted Date) (190) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 8 - Date slanted with last 8 far from rim. Date lateral position is normal.
Die 1 - Die marker - Short vertical fine die scratch left end of cap bottom below ribbon.
Reverse C3a -
Die 1 -Die marker - Diagonal polishing lines in eagle's wing-neck gap.

1. Multiple Die Pairs do exist for Normal slanted date varieties with no significant markers or doubling
2. VAM 10 revised. Has slanted date in normal lateral position. Strike doubling top of 888. No significant die dblg, gouges or breaks. Added Die 1 die markers for obv & rev. Die scratch bottom of cap not readily visible to naked eye & not listable as sub-variety, but useful as die marker.
