1J III21* C3a (Buffed Reverse) (181) I-3 R-6
Reverse C3a - Buffed die with shadow outline of eagle, around legend letters and both wreath leaves. Raised dot pitting around edges of eagle, legend and motto letters and both wreath leaves. not much die wear lines at periphery.

LVA Comments:
1- Pretty SEVERELY BUFFED reverse on 1888o. Unlisted buffed reverse with shadow outline around letters, wreath and left side of eagle, similar to 1891o VAM 19. Also has die chips around edges. Maybe mint workers polished die excessively in attempt to remove die rust pitting on it. no significant die dblng, breaks or gouges. Normal date and mm position.
