1887-P VAM-1D Spiked Bottom of Left Wing

Discovered by C. Logan McKechnie December 2004.
1D III21 · C3a (Spiked Bottom of Left Wing) ( ? ) I-2 R-5
Reverse C3a – Short horizontal die gouge spike from bottom of eagle’s left wing.

Comments:
1. VAM-1D appears to have a MPD in the denticles and has been submitted. However it was rejected because it was between 1 set of denticles, It needs to be between 2 separate set of denticles. Perhaps an early die state may show it between 2 sets of denticles.
2. There are few VLDS that do not have the gouge spike at wing, but remember TDITD,this VLDS also shows doubled ear in the inside!

Threads:

  1. EDS showing "evil mimic" for MPD
