1887-P VAM-1 Normal Die

2015 Die #2 Discovery Nathaniel Mailliard *
1 III2 1 - C3a (Normal Die) (190) I-1 R-1
Obverse III2 1 - Normal die of III3 type. Some specimen show die chips between loops of 8's in various combinations.
Reverse C3a - Normal die of C3 type.

1. Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings "DO" exist.
2. VAM-1 existence is inconclusive and may be a duplicate of another already listed VAM, several 1887 varieties show die chips in one or both 8'S
3. LVA will label coins VAM-1 to any 1887 that doesn't show any doubling, die breaks, etc (perfect die)
4. As you can see there are now two VAM-1 and they are spaced with Die #1 and Die #2

1. VAM-1 Die #2 [[1]]
