1885-P VAM-9B Far Date, Clashed Obverse n & st, Reverse M

Discovered by Mark Kimpton, October 2004. Revised December 2011
9B (revised) III2 9 · C3a (Far Date, Clashed Obverse n & st, Reverse M) ( ? ) I-2 R-6
Obverse III2 9– Clashed die with partial incuse n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck and partial incuse st of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. Just top of left side of n shows which is further left than VAM-9A.
Later clashed die state than VAM 9C with double clash lines at neck.
Reverse C3a– Clashed die with raised designer’s initial M from obverse showing above d of God. M is further left than VAM 9A.
Comments:
1- LDS specimens have obverse radial die cracks from rim to wheat stalks and second LS3 to rim.
2- Clashed die with raised designer’s initial M from obverse showing above d of God. M is further left than VAM-9A.
3- Same exact die pairing as VAM-9C, but VAM-9B is the Later Die State and double clashed. VAM-9.3 is the exact pairing with no clashing or light single clash with no transfer.
4- Vamhusker's submittal to LVA IN 2012 showed VAM-9B and VAM-9C are the same dies with same markers, the only difference is
VAM-9B is double clashed with a M on Reverse and VAM-9C is single clashed with no M.
