Discovered by Richard Deters, February 1973.
8 III2 1 - C3b (O Shifted Right ) (181) I-2 R-3
Reverse C3b- Mint mark shifted right.
1- Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.

'I think (strongly) that the VAM 8 will remain an "empty nest". DLT now has over 1000 1885-Os he has amassed over the last decade and he has "concluded" that the VAM 8 does not exist.'
