1884-O VAM-50 O/O Left, Doubled Ear, Far Date

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, May 2006.
50 III217 · C3g (O/O Left, Doubled Ear, Far Date) (181) I-2 R-5 (Formerly VAM 10 revised.)
Obverse III217– Ear slightly doubled on right inside and right outside. Date set further right than normal. Some specimens show die chip on 6th left star. (Obverse of VAM-29 and VAM-41)
Reverse C3g– II O mint mark re-punched with original showing as a wavy vertical line within left side of opening. So-called O/CC variety. Early die states show broad polishing gouge below right star (Reverse of VAM-10)
