1884-CC has the honor of having had the largest number of coins available during the GSA sale of CC dollars. Over 960,000 coins, or nearly 85% of the original mintage, went on the market in this sale. As a result, 1884-CC is plentiful in uncirculated grades. Luster and strike are typically good for 1884-CC, and they are readily available prooflike, which makes it easy to avoid those with substandard luster or weak strikes. As with other common CC dollars, there are a few varieties with sloppily punched dates, but there are no real rarities or must-have VAMs for this date.
