Obverse III2 9--Entire date doubled. Slightly doubled 1 on right side of vertical shaft and top right of lower crossbar, left 8 at lower left inside of both loops and right outside of lower loop, right 8 at bottom inside of lower loop and 3 at bottom inside of lower loop. Horizontal polishing lines in left 8 both loops.

Here is the date showing polishing lines and doubled date.

There is a diagnostic crack running from the star to the left of the date through the bade of the neck V and continuing to the first digit of the date.

The reverse is a normal 1883-S reverse with the mintmark in the normal position.
