1883-P VAM-49 Doubled 8, Pitted Dies

Revised designation of former VAM 1A by Tom Wethern (weth), 2018.
III2 49 - C3a (Doubled 8, Pitted Dies) (188?9) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 49 - Doubled left inside of both loops of left 8, very slight notch on 3 lower loop bottom inside. Fairly heavy die pitting on Liberty head.
Die Marker: Five nearly vertical die polishing lines left end Phrygian cap ribbon.
Reverse D2a -
Die Marker: Two die pits projecting into field at the top of eagle's upper beak. Heavy die pitting on eagle.
