1881-S VAM-42 S Tilted Left

Discovered by Martin Field, March 1982. Revised Dec.2013
42 (revised) III2 1 - C3p (S Tilted Left) (186) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 1- Some show short die chip inside upper loop of first 8 at 11 o'clock.
Reverse C3p- Mint mark centered and tilted slightly left.
Revision notes;
S tilted left of C3 p & III2 I obv with no date doubling. S matches VAM 42 but doesn't have die chip at 11 o'clock in upper loop of first 8. So added notation only some have die chip. Must have multiple dies.

Comments:
1. This reverse shared with VAM-37, VAM-44, VAM-51, VAM-57, and VAM-67
