1880-S VAM-55 Doubled 80, Die Chip Wreath

Discovered by Martin Field, October 1980.
55 III2 34 ∙ C3a (Doubled 80, Die Chip Wreath) (189) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 34 – Doubled 80 in date. Second 8 doubled slightly on lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled at left and right outside at top and bottom.
Reverse C3a – Normal die with medium IV S mint mark. Large die chip on wreath leaf opposite NI of UNITED and a smaller die chip in field next to I of UNITED as in VAM-42.
