1880-S VAM-41 Doubled 1-80, Tripled Right Wreath

Discovered by Jim Baxter, October 1977. Revised 2000

Obverse III2 27 – Doubled 1-80 in date. 1 doubled as notch at top left of lower crossbar. Second 8 doubled at left bottom outside of upper loop. 0 doubled at left inside and strongly at top left and right outside.
Reverse C3x – Tripled outer leaves of right wreath towards rim. Slightly doubled lower left wreath and LAR, right star and ERICA towards rim. Medium IV S mint mark centered and upright.
