1880-S VAM-39 Doubled 80, Medium S

Discovered by Oscar Simpson, March 1977.

39 III2 25 ∙ C3g (Doubled 80, Large Type V S) (?) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 25 – Doubled 80 in date. Second 8 doubled faintly at left bottom outside of upper loop. 0 doubled faintly at left and right outside.
Reverse C3g – (medium) IV S mint mark repunched with original showing as a short vertical line at top right of upper loop opening and as a vertical curved line at very right side of lower loop opening. Mint mark set slightly left.

1- This obverse shared with VAM-37, VAM-37A, VAM-37B, VAM-39, and VAM-96.
2- This reverse shared with VAM-15, VAM-38, VAM-39, and VAM-76.
