1880-P VAM-33B Doubled Date, Clashed Obverse In _ ust

Discovery 2010.

33B III2 33- C3a (Doubled Date, Clashed Obverse In _ ust) (180) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 33 - Clashed die with faint incuse In of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck, and faint incuse partial ust of Trust from reverse showing in space above right hair vee of lower hair edge.
Reverse C3a - Die marker - Vertical die scratch thru ED of UNITED.

Comments:
1- This reverse shared with VAM-24, VAM-24A and 33B.
2- VAM-33, 33A, and 33B all have different reverse dies.

The VAM 33B revision can't be right. It's now listed with the VAM 33A reverse marker, and that doesn't match the original VAM 33B discovery. It should have the VAM 24/24A reverse. If I was to bet, I'd say the coin that prompted the 2016 confusion is a later example of what had been a VAM 33A with the E worn off. -JR
Obverse III2 33 - Clashed die with faint incuse In of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck, and faint incuse partial ust of Trust from reverse showing in space above right hair vee of lower hair edge. Later die state than VAM-33A with partial clashed E on Die 1 reverse.
Reverse C3a - Die 2 - No clashed die with partial E below tail feathers. Same die as VAM-24, but earlier die state and different than VAM-33.
