Discovered by Howard Newcomb, February 1913.
2 III2 1 - C3b (Medium O) (176) I-2 R-2
Reverse C3b- Medium, tall, II O mint mark centered and upright.

Comments:
1. The photographs below show the normal placement of the date and the medium, tall mintmark.
[The photos are also a warning for those who shop on the internet: lighting makes it appear the date,
the mintmark and other elements are doubled. They are not.]
2. At least FOUR different die pairing of VAM-2 exist, all attributed by Leroy Van Allen. Below are 3 examples.
