1879-S VAM-80

80 III2 34- C3x (Doubled Date, Tripled Stars, Acid Treated Lower Hair & Wreath) (182) I-4 R-5
Obverse III2 34 - Same die as VAM-64 with double date, tripled stars and acid treated designer's initial and lower hair.
Reverse C3x - Same reverse as VAM-16A , 65 and 75. Acid treated lower right side of wreath bow with triangle from lower ribbon and some middle and outside leaves of 2-5 leaf clusters from bottom of wreath. Acid used to strengthen over polished areas.
Comments:
1- Both Obverse and Reverse exhibit clashed lightly with no letter transfer.
2- Obverse Die first used for VAM-80, then later polished out further and used for VAM-64.
3- This Reverse is shared with VAM-16A, VAM-65, VAM-75 and VAM-80.
4- The Reverse Die use sequence is VAM-80, followed by VAM-65, then VAM-16A and lastly VAM-75.
