III2 57 • C3a (Doubled 879, Engraved Wreath Leaves) (182) I-3 R-5
Obverse III2 57 - Doubled 879 with 8 slightly at right inside of lower loop plus several die chip at top inside of lower loop and horizontal die polishing lines to right inside of upper loop, 7 slightly at top edge and 9 at left outside edge of both loops.
Die marker -- Die polishing lines in cap fold gap.
Note:has tripled or sextuplet stars
Reverse C3ar - Slight touch-up engraving on two wreath leaves above N in ONE and leaf above U in UNITED.
Die marker -- Several diagonal die polishing lines bottom of space to left of eagle's right leg.
Comments:
- Slight doubling on right edge of wreath and bottom insides of letters of AMERICA
- Discovery and a second specimen are both uncirculated.
- Both dies show vertical polishing lines in the fields.
