1879-P VAM-49 Doubled 9, Doubled Left Reverse

Discovered by Herb Zepke, March 2003.
49 III2 42 · C3j (Doubled 9, Doubled Left Reverse) (180) I-3 R-5
Obverse III2 42 – 9 in date slightly doubled at left outside of both loops.
Reverse C3j – Hub doubling of left reverse same as 1878 P C3b reverse with doubling of UNITED STATES bottom inside, I of In at top, top right edge of eagle’s right wing and left edge of some leaves in left wreath.
Die marker– Two horizontal die polishing lines in middle tail feather.
