Obverse III2 22 – Quadrupled right stars and doubled to tripled left stars. US in PLURIBUS and UNUM slightly doubled at top towards rim. Die marker– Line thru denticle spaces below date.
Reverse C3i – Hub doubling of left reverse same as 1878 P C3b reverse with doubling of UNITED STATES bottom inside, I of In at top, top right edge of eagle’s right wing and left edge of some leaves in left wreath. II O mint mark set slightly high with slight tilt to right. Die marker– Thin line thru denticle spaces below DOLL.
1. This reverse shared with VAM-30 and VAM-33.
2. The line under the date and in the denticles is easier to see on the coin than it is in the photograph below.
