1878-S VAM-24 Doubled LIBERTY & Wheat Leaves, Engraved Wing Feather

Discovered by Martin Field, March 1979. Revised 2012.

Obverse II 6– No polishing lines in front of Liberty head profile. (Also VAM-7.)
Reverse B2r-Feather engraved between eagle's right wing and leg with possible acid treatment at top. R in Trust not broken. Portions of eagle's left wing over polished in middle and shallow UNITED. Die chip back of top arrow head. (Also VAMs 30 & 43.)

1. Obverse shared with VAM-7 Note scratch coming out of ear towards hair curl.
2. Reverse used with VAM-24, VAM-30, and VAM-43.
