1878-P VAM-228-4 Broken Fourth Right Star, Normal Third Reverse, Die Chip Lower Neck, Polishing Lines in "L" and "B" in LIBERTY

228-4 II 2 · C3a (Broken Fourth Right Star, Normal Third Reverse, Die Chip Lower Neck, Polishing Lines in "L" and "B" in LIBERTY) (178) I-2 R-6
Obverse II 2- Die 4 - Small die chip at lower rear of neck.
Die marker– Long thin horizontal polishing line below right cotton boll.
Reverse C3a– Die 4 Two diagonal polishing lines above top arrow feather.

Comments:
1. Strong polishing lines at the base of the letters "L" and "B" in LIBERTY.
2. Note: On some specimens, the polishing lines in L and B are quite weak. The lines around the cotton bolls are still present, however.
