1878-P VAM-146 Line in E, R, Y

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, December 1965.
This coin is a Top 30 1878 Variety
146 II2 - B2j (Line in E, R, Y) (194) I-2 R-3
Obverse II2- Point of star 4 right broken. Slight doubling of right side of 7. Diagonal die gouge through bottom of E, two through top of R, and one through middle of Y in LIBERTY. Slightly doubled profile on lips, chin and upper neck.
Reverse B2j- Middle of eagle's wing overpolished. Open o in God. Engraved wing feather betwen right wing and leg appears as vertical bar in the opening.

1. Significant gouges can be seen in the ER of LIBERTY. LDS is lightly clashed, but there is no letter transfer.

Slight doubling on the right side of the 7
The R in TRUST shows signs of deterioration and potentially being reworked with a smaller crossbar.
Overpolished wing
Short nock, parallel arrow feather.
The nose is polished down slightly.
