14-13 I113 · A1n (Bar Eyelid) (189) I-3 R-7
Obverse I113– Extra metal in front of eye as thick bar just below front of eyelid. Date tripled with 1 slightly tripled at lower left outside and top inside of upper loop. 7 slightly tripled below crossbar and doubled at top right. Right 8 upper loop slightly tripled at lower left outside. All right stars very slightly doubled towards rim.
REVERSE: vam 14.13 shares its reverse with vam 14.9 and vam 14.16
Comments: The VAM-14.13 is one of the terribly rare 8 tailfeather varieties. The reverse is an A1n design shared by VAM 14.9 and VAM 14.16, all rare VAMs. This reverse is characterized by a unique tailfeather design and a small die scratch inside the lower part of the N of UNITED.

The obverse has this distinctive gouge below the eyelid.
There is faint tripling of the date observable at the top inside of the 8s. It is often hard to see this feature on worn specimens.
A die scratch by the cotton leaf may be easier to see on circulated coins.
Another diagnostic die scratch is located in the wheat leaves.
