1878-CC VAM-4 Close CC

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, December 1965.
4 (revised) II 3 ∙ B1c (Close CC) (177) I-2 R-5
Obverse II 3 – Normal die of 1878 P Type II with broken point off number 4 star on right (a hub defect).
Reverse B1c Normal die of type B1 with widely spaced mint marks, I CC, at medium height. Die chips show in the center of both CC's and right C is doubled at bottom inside as an arc.
