And I HOPE it only gets locked, not deleted, because it is important for newer members to see to understand recent goings on...

The following is a message I sent to a couple members but believe it should be repeated openly on the forum due to a continuation of the issue. Note that the only falsehood stated below was my saying it would last 6 months when, in reality, it didn't even last 6 days. Also, this is only a few of the many issues over the years, but to be honest, I've let most that I didn't see as specifically harmful to other members leave my memory.

Hey, just wanted to fill you in a bit on the history of this member (Scott Hobbs, AKA morganman)...
For as long as I've been around VW (around 14 years now), he has also been around and spreading many fanciful stories. From what I recall, back in the old days he didn't make statements about his incredible mass of Morgans but made other statements that lost him favor within the forum. He also at one point added many coins to the SSDC registry, but the certification numbers didn't match up with reality (and in many cases didn't even make sense with how each TPG numbers their slabs!). He also once set up a sale of one of his "multiple" 1889-P VAM-23a's, but the buyer canceled the sale because Scott's description of the coin didn't match up with the VAM-23a (I assume it was a VAM-19b2, maybe?). Also, if you've paid close attention, you can see that this guy that has "tens and tens of thousands" of Morgans that he is "liquidating" repeatedly offers the same half dozen or so for sale on the Buy, Sell, Trade board. If he's "liquidating this MEGA collection" why only ever offer these exact same few coins for sale?? By his own statements, he contends to own MANY high-dollar VAMs that a few members here would dang near fist fight over, yet it's always these same few "ho-hum" and problem coins.
Also, he seems to put himself in the middle of a LOT of stories, from "suddenly" being a lifelong friend of the man behind the "California" collection (but not a single mention of him until he passed), to being a buddy to Redfield, though there was NO mention of him for several years (I mean, on a Morgan forum, that would be a pretty good "Hello, my name is" introduction...), to having his vacation home burn in the wildfire a couple years ago... sooo many stories...
I know a few of you guys like his "metal market info", but, if you pay attention, NOTHING he says ever comes to be and he ALWAYS includes an "I bought up 3.4 million tons" story in those posts. If a person didn't know any better, they'd think he was actually trying to INFLUENCE the market with those posts (as ridiculous as that actually is).
I am FAR from alone in my long-held belief that he is nothing more than an attention seeking con...

Take this info as you will, but I bet he's posting again within 6 months (he's claimed he was "quitting" several times before as well...)

Writing a one page letter as well as calling me a CON, is typical of your
repeated aggresion against me. I could do the same for you but refuse to

This time around i will simply ask all negative posts to cease, and quit verbally
assulting me, as no good can come of repeated attacks. its very sad that you
always attack my reputation by twisting stories to suit your agressive lies

Provide credible evidence that anything above is false Scott, that's all you EVER had to do... continually... for 10+ years...
Also, "counterproductive"? Counterproductive to what, aside from your own interests?

A member said if he had all that stuff he probably wouldn't want any help but if that were really the case, Morganman wouldn't be bragging about any of it. Especially to the entire world. Just sayin'.

Posting this is not a service to anyone. Regardless of how 'justified' you feel propagaing this information is, it is not helpful. You (all) obviously think this important information - I can only speak for myself, but it clearly is not and I'd ask you to start acting a bit more rationally, a lot less emotionally, and stop feeling a retort is necessary to get the last word or up your imaginary foe somehow.

How old are you all? Honestly I've not seen such childish behavior in most kids older than... six.

Best advice: Remember, he or she who angers you, controlls you.
