OT; Quarter Variety

Post by ljs123 » Sat Jan 14, 2023 2:25 am

I think that this is my favorite US clashed coin I own.
And I have several TOP POP clashed VAMs.
I have never seen a VAM with the number of letter transfer that this coin has.
It may be hard to see all the letter transfer by my photos, but in hand it is AMAZING.

A recent post made me think about asking for information on this quarter on VW.
I tried several years ago to find out more about this clashed quarter, but I didn't get anywhere.
Does anyone know if this coin has a variety listing? If so, would you please share that information with me?

This coin is in an ANACS holder.
JR, if this is a known variety, does ANACS list this variety on the holder?

That's a plumb cool specimen.

Thanks for all of the comments.

Where do I submit a quarter for a new variety or get the correct listing for this coin?
Thank you all for your help.

visit https://www.maddieclashes.com/ and follow their directions. It may take them a while to get back to you. They are also actively involved in the new CONECA listing pages that are intended to replace Variety Vista - a mammoth undertaking.

This cool is cool enough that it may elicit a faster response

JR,
Thank you.
I went to the link and I could not find a listing for a 76-S Proof clashed quarter. I did see the 76 quarter that you refered to. It is a very similar looking clash. My quarter looks to have stronger transfer, but that could be due to their photos.
It says that they are not taking submissions for at least a year.
I went ahead and sent an email. Hopefully I will hear back soon.
I will let you know if I hear anything.
Thanks again!

There was a monster clashed 1976s proof wuarter that might have been in joja gems. I have a mountain of articles to go through to find it. Been looking for one of these for decades.
