This is the only prior sale I know of:
1879-S R78 77A 45 PCGS Jul-18 PP $3,500
1879-S R78 77A 45 PCGS Jul-18 PP $3,500
When in doubt... don't.

Re: 1879-S VAM-77A
PCGS apparently hasn't attributed one yet, because there aren't any in the Pop Report. I presume they would attribute 77A (or they might call it 77), because both are known Reverse of '78 varieties and PCGS attributes all of the others.
I suspect that not having graded any so far speaks to how very rare it is.

Do you have a cert # ? Ive been trying to get a photo of a 77A for awhile . Just having a real hard time with seeing a example . Just for a close up to see . To many little kicker changes of the 77A that I have questions about .
For example this one has me perplexed . The Eagles Lower Right Wing(* Has the notch) doesnt jive with a 77 but a 77A I dont know . See attached PHOTO .

Re: 1879-S VAM-77A
The PCGS Pop Report appears to be messed up.
Here's what comes up when I look at the 1879-S R78 VAMs -- there aren't even listings for VAM 77 and 77A :
But when I enter the serial number of the coin shown by iceman (41774463), the coin does come up and it shows it as being attributed as VAM 77:
And when I click on the PCGS# shown in the coin's verification page (511483) I get a CoinFacts summary page that shows PCGS has graded a total of 25 examples in various grades:
But when I go back to the PCGS website home page, click on Pop Report, and enter the coin's PCGS# (511483), this comes up:

Hi Chris,
I am the one that bought this coin on your website on August 18th and 4 days later you sent me a refund instead of sending the binding contract of the receipt that I have. Why now are you asking questions about this coin on Vamworld? Is this how you run your business? Because that doesn't seem right?!?

A receipt, ( sales/refund) would help clear the air one way or the other.

Chris,
I have invested many hours into researching coins as well as coin hunting. I have missed many opportunities in purchasing coins that turned out to be rarer than what they were listed as, and that is just how it goes. However, when I came across this coin, I recognized a lot of the markings for a 77A; I decided to buy this coin off your website because of this. Four days after I made this purchase, I got a refund with absolutely zero explanation as to why. I have tried to call both of your business phone numbers; I left a message on one of them for you to call me back on my personal cell phone. I have also sent you an email on your website. You have made no effort to responded to any of them. You even have my home phone number, physical address mailing address and personal email. Not once have I received ANY response from you. How come the only way I can contact you is in a public Forum!? It's extremely unprofessional. Also, you say that you have sent me a "PM" here on VamWorld, but I have NO "PM's" from you. This does not sound like a good or ethical businessperson to me. If a website like NorthernNevadaCoin can say the coin is "SOLD" seconds after a purchase has been made, why is it that on your website the coin was still available to purchase even after I was charged for it. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? The receipt that shows my purchase is also available below to download and view.
