1921-S: can anyone help?
This coin was in a small group of D-mint coins I recently got, and I am profoundly clueless.
Any VAM help would be greatly appreciated.
-- There are no cracks anywhere.
-- There are some decent scribbles.
-- There are finger feed areas at TA and OF.
-- Perhaps the biggest PUPs are lines from the denticles to the 2nd A, and between the left star and U.

When in doubt... don't.

Dennis.
I see the 'feed areas at TA and Of.' Is there evidence of a gouge I am probably missing? Thanks.
Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
Mitch says the gouge at star-U is the VAM 1G reverse (thank you Mitch!)... but the gouge at star-U is the only thing that fits with 1G – and none of the other PUPs on the 1G page are on my coin.
When in doubt... don't.

A nice acetone bath would be good.
Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
That's what I thought; it has already had an overnighter... without much to show for it.
When in doubt... don't.
Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
Hey Mitch – does the line from the rim to U on the VAM 1G reverse also keep going under the N and I? Because the line on my coin does:

Yes Dennis
I vetted mine thru JR and slabbed as a 1G EDS

Thanks Mitch. Can you post a scribbles shot of your coin for comparison?
When in doubt... don't.

There is no doubt that you have the 1g reverse
So let's focus on the obverse
Could be a new pairing

Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
Does your coin have the mild finger feed areas on the upper reverse that mine does?
Meanwhile, I'll search the obverse for something... anything... to photograph as a PUP to help identify a possible new pairing.
When in doubt... don't.
Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
1- your scribs match
2- I don't see any feed fingers on your reverse
3-photograph Liberty and pay extra attn to BER
When I get home from work I will send you my liberty pic

Mitch:
If the scribs match then VAM 1G it is. Thanks!
My pix #2 shows lighter areas in/around/under TA and O that are shiny in hand; those are the finger feed areas on my coin.
Is the stuff across the bottom of especially the E and R what you're referring to?:
When in doubt... don't.
Re: 1921-S: can anyone help?
Yep
That's the obverse
Could someone please put pics on page.
They are too nice to not use

Very nice diagnostic photos. I added them to the page.
