1884-S UFO Die Pair
There seems to be an unlisted 1884-S die pair. It is a very far date, and a mint mark placement that can be described as set right, maybe slightly high.
The reverse is known with polished out wreath leaves, and the ones above ON in ONE are noticeable. On LDS coins, a chip forms on the second wreath leaf in the second from top leaf cluster.
Anyone have one? If so, a DC is available.

Interesting. One that escaped the re-engraving department.

Could this be a VAM-13? No pics at the page.

Not VAM-13. The V13 date is only far, not very far, and the die chip is in the wrong place. A die study shows the UFO die pair shown above is unique.

Re: 1884-S UFO Die Pair
If you mean does the UFO die pair have the same obverse as V11, the answer is no. It is a unique obverse die as far as I can tell.

There are a few 84-S's on their way across my desk. If a new 84-S page shows up, you'll know why.

May I post these pics to the V13 page?LateDateMorganGuy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 2:03 pmNot VAM-13. The V13 date is only far, not very far, and the die chip is in the wrong place. A die study shows the UFO die pair shown above is unique.

Don't see why not. The obverse die is the same as VAM-8 and the reverse die the same as VAM-4B.
Re: 1884-S UFO Die Pair
Based on what I see, these are PCGS CoinFacts images. They're rather territorial about their images showing up in online references. They may not have anticipated small "excerpts" of their images being shown and may be OK with it, but we'd have to get permission to use their images for this purpose first. If these indeed are CoinFacts images, the short answer is "unfortunately, no."

Re: 1884-S UFO Die Pair
They are from HA, but HA references Collector Universe for the images. I guess better to be safe than sorry and not post them. It may be academic anyway since the obv and rev dies are shown on the other VAM pages.
