Question about 1889 VAM6
Hello,
Fairly new to this site. I have a 1889 VAM6 with reverse clashing between the arrow tips and the bottom of the eagles feathers. Is this common to the VAM6? The clashing is distinct and easy to see. I have enclosed some pictures of the coin. Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Re: Question about 1889 VAM6
Sorry all I see are thumbnail pictures of your bigger ones so can't comment on them - but the VAM-6 does have the transfer from the cotton bolls to the area between the arrow feathers and tail feathers as you described. Can see it fairly clearly on the VAM-6 reverse FCP on the webpage. Thus, I'd say, yes, it is something 'expected' but is it something that is 'common' would be logical only by deduction, not based on text in the original description. If this is what you have, nice coin!

Thanks keilg1 for the reply. I didn't know the pics would be so small. It does show on the last few pics.
Re: Question about 1889 VAM6
The clashing you are talking about is the area associated with the clash and transfer of the stalks and lower portions of the cotton bolls from the obverse to the area just above the arrow heads on the reverse. This clashing can be found on a lot of clashed VAM's from a lot of dates. On the 1889-P VAM-6 it is a Die Sequence of that VAM.

Picked up a real nice PCGS 63 of this varitey and LOVE it. Nicely found coin on your part (from what I can see of the thumbnails).
