Failure to upgrade, or is it
In my efforts to upgrade my 1891 o set, I recently purchased a VAM 18 in an ANACS holder. Turns out it is VAM 25 which was a discovery coin of mine from 2013. VAM 18 was discovered in 2009. The on line auction photos made it difficult to note any differences (which are very minor) in those 2 VAMs. A question I have concerns the numbering of the holder 4669xxx..... can that be used to date when the coin was certified? I had an order in 2012 with 4662xxx number series and later orders with 520xxxx and 540xxxx numbering. Is it possible the coin was designated VAM 18 due to VAM 25 not yet discovered? If it was holdered in 2012, it would predate my discovery coin. Either the VAM 18 or VAM 25 designation would upgrade my set a little, so call it what it really is, send back to ANACS.... or do I return to seller due to it not being accurate? Sorry if this write-up is confusing as heck...........
