1880-S Listing Carnage
Lots of changes to the 80-S listings, making it a little easier to attribute that date.
Former 7A is 122. since it's not related to VAM 7. 45A is now VAM 124, for a similar reason. 124 has the reverse shared with some 79-S's and the obverse of VAM 63, which shares a reverse with a few others, which now makes it possible to place a specific group of VAMs at the beginning of the year, including 63, 63B, which used to be 96, 86, which used to be 63A but has a different obverse from 63, 92, and 22. VAM 92 shares an obverse with new VAM 121, which shares a reverse with 28. VAM 119 went away as a duplicate of VAM 6, which has been split into 6 (no break in B) and 6A (break in B), but 120 was confirmed as having a different reverse, coming after 6A. 16 and 16A were updated to reflect the shared reverse die with 104.
In total, 3 new listings, 3 renumbered, 3 eliminated, and 9 revised. The revisions mostly reflect renaming the dies to better track shared dies.
Thanks, Brent, for sending me a pile of coins.

Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
Wow. Tremendous amount of work! Thanks for sleuthing and the tenacity to get them figured out.

Thank you JB & JR!!!
Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
With all the due respect to all the years of LVA DOCUMENTING./working
discoveries for Vamworld members, the current setup with JB & JR
is much better IMHO.. Again, total respect to the king,
The communication between JB/JR and members /discovery
submitters is a huge plus, thus putting a more personal slant on
the important workings, and allowing members to thank both men
for their diligent work. Sometimes changes can be positive, and we
members are lucky to have Vam profesionals like JB & JR working
gor the futherance of our sport. Thanks Guys

Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
Could someone (SSDC admin) update the SSDC Registry to match these changes? TIA
Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
Registry changes (fogie is unavailable right now):
7A moved to 122
45A moved to 124
119 eliminated, all three registered moved to 6 - no break seen on imaged one and the Heritage auction one; the Logan one is in the wild and presumed 6, not 6A, unless shown otherwise. Andy and Brent will have to find a 6A at the ANA next week.
Others appear to be already reflected.
Added fogie's VAM-123, discovered this month. He probably was waiting for the coin in hand in holder to add.

Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
JC - thank you.
If and when you have a chance, could you also take a look at ssdc message board request?

Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
1881-S VAM-72A added, though it needs supporting images on the VW page here. The others in the Registry MB post need supporting VW pages before adding (and moving the 1C).
Re: 1880-S Listing Carnage
JC - pages all set. TIA
