Book - "From Mine to Mint, Vol 2"

One of my current tasks is the successor book to From Mine to Mint. This continues the kind of process and mechanical approach to minting coins begun with the first volume. That is, the emphasis is on how equipment worked, how it was used, and the effects on coinage - including errors and defects. This new volume will not repeat what is in Vol 1 except for reader orientation and corrections. There is no deadline for the book -- maybe when it reaches 550 pages - like the first volume?

I am interested in hearing from forum members who have subjects of interest -- either specific questions or concepts.

PS: I'm deliberately posting this without mentioning subjects already in the "hopper." I don't want to discourage any ideas or questions. Also, if VAM specialists want me to try and locate information on the traditionally accepted explanations, please provide as much info as you can.

Out in front of the ANA HQ there's a coining press. Last couple times I taught the Morgan class there, I tried to explain what moved where and how when a coin was struck. What would be neat is annotated illustrations that show the movement of a planchet through the press and what parts are moving thoughout the press' cycle of striking a coin. Do this for assorted press types that were being used throughout the mint's history. Show what was easily adjusted and not-so-easily adjusted.
