75 S Trade Dollar Coin 2

I bought this one from A local Coin club member.

Type 1 obverse
type 2 reverse
weighs right and passed the sigma test .
Nice looking original coin.
Upon review the reverse wing is interesting .

Appears to be unlisted, both dies, though one would not have the expected the reverse to have survived to be multiply paired.

The date is very high and set right. There are a couple that are close but not close enough from my recollection. As for the reverse die, the right tilt for the mint mark, especially when compares to the S of GRAINS is not a familiar one. Because of the obvious wing, I wouldn't even bother looking at the Type II reverses used in 1876-S pairings. Well, I actually would to see if the unlikely case of me missing that wing would be there and was mistaken on a low-grade coin as a typical edge break or clash. I will need to look over what I have, as well as any not catalogued, to see if there are any die matches, but it looks to me to be unfamiliar and likely both a discovery and probably rare. The Mint was careful about export quality and would have pulled that reverse die as soon as it was noticed. That is why a couple multiply hubbed cherrypicker Trade varieties are legitimately rare. The 1876-S DDO (Type II hubbing over a Type I hubbed original die) and the dual-hubbed (Type I) massive DDR of 1876-CC come directly to mind. The really cool ones will tend to be pretty rare for QA reasons compounded with the fact that they would be the first into the melt buckets in Asia.

I could not find anything on the trade challenge that resembles this.

I was not able to find anything on this one .

Some on another site think the wing is pmd though I am not sure what would of caused it to look like that . Plus it still has some feather details . I am not sure though . Maybe someone with more knowledge than me would like to see the coin in hand.
