1923 Peace VAM 1Q2+

Post by Windycity » Thu May 12, 2022 1:13 pm

Finally identified this coin as a VAM 1Q2 but the radial reverse break extend through Eagle's neck as a displaced field break. Don't know if this qualifies as a new 1Q3 vam or a late die stage 1Q2. If someone has interest in posting these images on the 1Q2 page, I give my permission.

is that crack on more than one? lamination issues can look like that as well.

also, a radial starts at the rim. fwiw

if it is a crack, nice find!

no pics or plates on that page.

Here are two additional photos.

1. one showing that it is the radial break from the rim and what convinces me the neck is a break and not a planchet flaw.
2. the second show another small die break on Liberty's neck above date.
