The VAM 28 was only listed as doubled 3. So this could certainly be listed as VAM 28. I originally had this listed as 37 very early in the die study due to very slight doubling on top of 3. I changed it to Q1(my first Questioned die) after JR returned without designation and when I saw a good picture of the VAM 37.
Very few 3's from 1883 do not have what appears to be caused by deterioration of the punch containing the 3. I have been trying to get Leroy to look at my photos of the 3's for a couple years now but I think he would rather see coins.
