Help with 1880-P Overdate, Doubled Neck, Motto, Date & Reverse
Different doubled neck than VAM-45, Different reverse than any on VAMWorld 2.0 pages.
Some of doubling looks like LDS deterioration at die surface, very irregular.
Obverse:
1 doubled under top crossbar, arc goes down left side of shaft, doubled top left of lower crossbar
8 slight doubling right outside of both loops; die chips between loops
8 doubled lower left outside of upper loop, bubbles in loops, surface mark upper right top loop similar to mark in Stems Overdate 8 on VAM-8 page, notch at top. Die chips between both loops minor
0 small spikes at top left inside and outside and right outside, doubled left inside that ends in bubble, surface doubling outside lower right. Spikes at top match the top of the 9 crossover points in the overdate overlay on the VAMWorld 2.0 page
Doubled Neck different than VAM-45. Area shows several die breaks. Mark in denticles below 1.

Re: Help with 1880-P Overdate, Doubled Neck, Motto, Date & Reverse
i don't see any evidence of an overdate. i see very minor doubling that wouldn't get listed. examine date position, doubling of digits, and then look through listed vams with those characteristics that have doubling on the reverse.

The 'spikes' on the left of the 0 appear more like a bar in this pic and that is where the 9 crosses the 0. The VAMWorld overlay pic from the 1880-P page is here for comparison. Looks like something is going on.
