1887-P VAM-19B Stage 7 and VAM-19A differences?

Post by keilg1 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 6:38 pm

I really appreciate the Die State Pagehttp://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... Die_States that Scott Hamilton and Juan Arrioja created for a fun little ditty, the 1887-P VAM-19 to VAM-19B (7 stages) and VAM-19A.

I see that the final VAM-19B variant, VAM-19B.7 if you will, immediately precedes the VAM-19A -- with the latter the final/8th stage. But I'm unsure if I read this correctly. The rim to star break is the VAM-19A version, but I think the VAM-19B.7 reads the same?

What would this coin be placed at - 19B.7 or 19A?

Thanks again to Scott and Juan. What a wonderful piece of work.

Thanks and happy Valentine's day. Celebrate the love however you can (and your spouse allows?).

There are 7 stages of VAM 19. !9A being the last one. So the stage 7 is the VAM 19A.

Thanks, @tmanhg.

I'm wondering if the table can be updated to unconfuse the easily confused like me. For example, the table can more clearly say Stage 0 = VAM-19; Stages 1-6 = VAM-19B; Stage 7 = VAM-19A.

Appreciate the clarification.

It could be done, but not by me.

The text above the table indicates that stage 5 is the gray area between VAMs 19B and 19A. I can update this page sometime today.

Thanks JB!
I made some changes that should make it a little less confusing. Take a look.

Thanks, John.

Brilliant enough to even guide me to confirm my 19A (stage 7) - a die pair in need or retirement. Sounds like my eyes...
