O/T Oregon Fires

Post by morganman » Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:30 pm

Just endured 1 1/2 weeks of terrible smoke from a 100,000 plus acres
fire about 10 miles from me. Most of western Oregon including coast has fires
Worst I have experienced. Now it finally rained all night, so what a blessing to
be able to go outside & breathe clean air again.

Calif is a blaze and worse than Oregon

Fires made it feel like covid19 +++

I live in a large valley, so not as bad as people in foothills with timber that fuels
the wildfires, mostly all lightning set

it has been very smokey in Idaho from fires in Oregon and California. We are having some of our own but most of the smoke is from the west and southwest. We had a little rain yesterday and today is quite cool.

before living here we lived in the lower Sierra in the timber belt. Fire was always on our mind in the late summer and fall.

I'm on the East side of the Blue Ridge and the conversations here are " Wish we could send some of the rain here to the folks on the West coast." Hope everyone stays safe! :(

I'm on the westside at the foot of the coastal range and it got pretty bad a couple of days. California, Oregon, and Washington all want to blame global warming while ir rains torrentially elsewhere on the planet. Bottom line is the need to manage the forests by thinning out the dead stuff and cleaning the forest floor. I speak from experience as I have timber on my property. If you don't clean it you get a forest floor full of dry kindling which can take off and rampage easily. We can thank the extreme environmentalists for keeping that from being done.

Also, a number of idiots have been arrested getting caught setting fires. They aren't satisfied with burning down mom & pop businesses, they have to burn the forest and people's homes.

Totally agree. I have numerous articles about the numerous arson arrests, but for some reason it's being treated as a conspiracy theory (even though you can google it and find numerous articles)... Also interesting to see how there are only 20 active fires in Canada when I checked last week. (🤦‍♂️🤷‍♀️?!). Very sad and praying for those affected.

The blinkin' yellow lights represent the sun, the blinkin' blue lights represent the moon, maybe the forests are burning on the west coast because people failed turn their trees in blinkin' idols with enough blinkin' yellow or blinkin' blue lights, or maybe they had their trees blinkin' at the wrong frequency.

Annually they spend many millions of dollars turning evergreen trees into lavishly decorated blinkin' idols, then the trees caught fire and burned their homes down. Maybe they decorated their trees with blinkin' lights of the wrong color, maybe they got their trees to blink at the wrong frequency, or maybe they failed to put enough tinfoil on their blinkin' trees. Or maybe their homes didn't have tall enough ceilings, preventing them from getting and decorating tall enough trees. Sure the Bible repeatedly condemns turning trees into decorated idols, but what doth God know?
